Angels, angels, angels. Miss Finesse caught up with the deliciously talented Josh Hopkins. You may know him from Cougar Town, Swingtown, and Brothers & Sisters. Hunky Hopkins is featured (shower scene and all…well, almost all) in a fabulous movie titled Lebanon, PA produced, written and directed by Ben Hinkernell. MISS FINESSE
Hi Josh. First of all, I’m a huge fan of yours; even more so after your impressive performance as Will in Lebanon, PA. At what point in reading the script did you realize that this part was perfect for you?
JOSH
Early on I realized that Ben had a beautifully nuanced, subtle script that tackled big issues in a natural way. Will is an extremely flawed character and that’s easy for anyone to relate to.
MISS FINESSE
Had you ever been to Lebanon (PA that is) before the filming? Could you see yourself living in a rural town like Lebanon?
JOSH
I had never been to Lebanon pre shooting but it was a lovely place. The people were so accommodating and genuine. I’m not sure what life has in store for me but I don’t know that I’ll always live in or around LA. If I ever have a family I would probably prefer to raise kids in a smaller town.
MISS FINESSE
Did you do anything special to prepare for the role of Will?
JOSH
I really didn’t have a lot of time but the character really resonated with me. I saw a lot of he in me and a lot of me in he.
MISS FINESSE
What came first, Cougar Town or Lebanon, PA? Was there a time when you were filming both?
JOSH
I shot Lebanon,PA quite a bit before Cougar Town. It was the perfect foil. They are so different in tone. I love them both.
MISS FINESSE
Are you working on any upcoming projects you’d like to share with your adoring fans?
JOSH
I’m currently shooting a Tennis comedy called Tan Lines. Should be pretty funny. I hope, anyway.
MISS FINESSE
I can’t wait. You’ve been an absolute doll Josh. I’ll see you on the big screen…..and in my dreams (blush, blush).
JOSH
